Royal Australian Air Force's 87th Birthday!

In 1921, on the 31st of March, the Australian Air Force was formed. It was then only the second air force to exist, after the RAF. In August it was given the prefix "Royal" and in that same year the number of aircraft (about 127 of which were given by the British) was greater than the number of air force personnel!

By World War Two, the RAAF had grown to be the 4th largest air force in the world! Today, the numbers are down to about 13,500 personnel, operating only a fraction of the number of aircraft.

Through struggel to the stars! RAAF is not the only one to use it. It originates from RAF. British empire and it's traditions 

Anyway I personally like RAAF (as well as RCAF, RNZAF). Nice of them to hold on to the traditions. Simply Australian Air Force would be boring, wouldn't it? I mean who would care about it then except few aussie patriots?

PS, we had to study the first picture in english the other day, something to do with "if you seen this picture, would you fight in the war"

That's the way the RAF interprets the motto. But the official RAAF translation is with "struggle"

I say bring back the old recruiting posters! Lol, they're classic!
