 HDMS for the F-35 JSF

This is the new helmet-mounted display system for the F-35 Lighting II Joint Strike Fighter. The helmet is designed to provide pilots with binocular-wide field-of-view, give night vision abilities and scare enemy pilots at first sight. It was used for the first time last April, making the F-35 the first combat plane without a cockpit-mounted heads-up display in a very long time.

Beyond making the pilot look like a spooky insect the F-35 HDMS is loaded with all kinds of amazing goodies, like extreme off-axis targeting and head tracking "providing the pilot with unprecedented situational awareness and tactical capability." The helmet was developed by Vision Systems International.
Hurray for our side.

Good things come to those that wait Gripe. And it will be worth waiting for.
I believe that there has been a deliberate program of negative information fed to the crappy media about this aircraft as it will be the best fighter in the world in five years time and the mis information is to confuse our enemies both real and potential.

Hurrah for our side.

I don´t agree with you Aviator, no matter how good the F-35 is, the F-22 will always be able to surpass it, at least thats what i think.

About this helmet, it makes the pilots look like an alien, but certainly has some kick-ass technologies.

Suck, unless you are the chief test pilot for the US Airforce or someone simular, and only get your information from junk fed to an ignorant media, there is no way of any of us normal mortals knowing the truth of this.
As I said, virtually all of the real stuff is classified to keep our enemies guessing.

Yeah, but there are some things about the Raptor that makes us come to the conclusion that in overall he will be better choice than F-35.

Theres also another thing, i don´t take my informations from media, i take them from experts on the matter and from books when ever i can.

You must be familiar with Australia Air Power review, a website run by Dr. Carlo Kopp, read his opinions on the F-22 Vs. F-35 matter and i´m quiet sure that using your common sense together with the informations there you´ll come to the conclusion i came long ago.

Yep, a good answer Suck. Who knows anyway? We will just have to wait and see how it all turns out.
But even if the F-35 is an equal it will do the job for Oz.

I've said this before but the 1940s are gone when the best fighter shot down the most planes in massive aerial dogfights where the winner would ultimately win the war.
What makes the best fighter of today's era? It won't be needed for aerial dogfighting. What is it for?
The fastest and most manoeuvrable isn't the best any more.
It is the on board packages that will rule the skies. Growler technology, weaponry and other electronic and avionic wizardry can now make a lesser aircraft the best.

Dead right Aviator.

And guess who has the best pack of everything (maneuverability, stealth, weapons and electronics) ;) ;).
