Flying Legends 2009

(1/2) > >>

Ramon:
Hello all,

Also here still very early in 2009 to start a participation list.
But the first aircraft are already confirmed, so why wait  ;)

USA
- Flying - "Horseman" P-51 three-ship (confirmed)

United Kingdom
- Unknown - Goodyear FG-1D Corsair
- Unknown - Grumman F8F-2P Bearcat
- Unknown - Bell P-39-Q6 Airacobra "Brooklyn Bum"
- Unknown - Curtiss P-40B Warhawk
- Unknown - Grumman FM2 Wildcat
- Unknown - Curtiss 75 Hawk
- Unknown - Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat

The above list from the United Kingdom, is a short overview
of the TFC collection, and can therefore hopefully be expected.
Furthermore every year a large amount of Mustangs and Spitfires.

Rumours are still circulating about the beautiful P-38 Lightning
'Glacier Girl' coming over from the states. The Republic P-47G
Thunderbolt of TFC is currently put together, and will hopefully be
ready to fly during the Flying Legends, and lots more RUMOURS....

Regards, Ramon  ;)

Ramon:
Hello all,

Still a lot of rumours, and no definite participants till a few weeks before the show.
However already a "goose bump" trailer is released for the best airshow on this planet.

Have a look at: http://www.cambridgeareatraining.co.uk/airgage/foftfc/trailer.htm

Regards, Ramon

Ramon:
Hello all,

The show is coming closer, and therefore also the news of participants. A nice
addition to the show is the Lockheed Electra "Hazy Lily", the well known aircraft
flown by Amelia Earhart. Of course is this a copy of the "real" aircraft, however
still a great sight to see this 67 years old aircraft flying.

Hopefully some more news the coming two weeks  ;D

Regards, Ramon

AVIATOR:
Looks great Ramon. You share my love of aircraft of that era. I had a look at the website on this and here are a few details.

Flying Legends - 11th and 12th July 2009

Flying Legends - two words which instantly evoke the very best of classic aircraft displaying at Duxford in one of the world's most celebrated air shows. The Fighter Collection and the Imperial War Museum are proud to present the 2009 event; another unmissable fusion of power, sounds and nostalgia.

FLYING LEGENDS 2009 AIR SHOW TICKETS

Adult £29.95
Senior Citizen £24.95
Child £9.95
Concession Rate £9.95

Not cheap to get in for a family of say four. About $190 Australian. Wow! Think I'd leave the missus home.

Hello Aviator,

I love these old birds, and it is word every penny.
There is no warbird show like this one, it will be my
third airshow at Duxford. For warbirds the best there is.

Regards, Ramon ;)
