RIAT is always somewhere mid-July, it's the biggest one, and probably most expensive, but well worth it if you want to see USAF stuff as well.

It all depends on which countries you want to visit?

That's not stablished yet (which countries I am visiting), but three of them will most certainly be Spain, Switzerland and maybe German countries  It mostly depends on where the big airshows will be held

The only big/real air show in Germany will be ILA 2008 in Berlin, but normally it's in May. It's more of a commercial / trade show. Switzerland isn't really known for air shows either, only the AXALP exercise in October. I don't know about Spain, there are always some beach air shows, I prefer shows at military air bases though. I'll get back to you here when more is known for the 2008 season. The RNLAF open days are pretty big, normally in mid June, this time at Leeuwarden in the north.

I'd focus on RIAT for now though. With some good weather, it will surely be the show of your life so far. I am still working on my photos from the show this year.

But if you like warbirds, go for Duxford - the museum and the Flying Legends air show.

There's no Paris Le Bourget or MAKS in 2008.

RAF Fairford, UK. http://www.milavia.net/airshows/riat06/index.htm, http://www.airtattoo.com

Well if you have an Italian ID card or pasport, you don't need a visa for any EU member countries. For some other countries, such as Turkey, you can buy your visa when entering the country if you're a EU citizen. Won't be a problem until you go to Africa or Russia. Many EU countries also have open borders, but you still need to have ID on you, especially when travelling by air/international waters. Well good luck planning your trip, maybe we'll see eachother at some air show, whether here in the Netherlands, or some other country.

I was thinking of going to the Asian Aerospace '08 in Hong Kong, as Singapore is hosting its own airshow.

EU is out of my budget, but if any of you guys are headed down south... ;D

Ah cool, but isn't it a very commercial one, lots of civvies and b-jets? more trade than air show?

Actually, it is. But the last time i went, i got to sit in a Tiffy, Eagle, Hornet and Falcon. The Flanker queue was too long.

Last year they showcased the F-35, so i think i should see enough fighters. ;D

Hmm, seafront show. Planes are a "mile" off and on the grounds itself there's not much interesting to see most of time. Surely worth a visit, but not something I would travel more than a few hours for...

If you are in the UK, I would recommend: RIAT (Fairford, RAF/USAF), Duxford (warbirds) Waddington (RAF), Farnborough (trade, lots of new stuff), Yeovilton (RN)... and Leuchars, but that's in September and in Scotland...

I don't care much on where it is, I want to visit Europe first of all, but I want to go to a good airshow too. Now, dates have changes, second half of july, first week of August.
