This book is a collection of short (1-4pages) stories about the B-24 crews and the 8th Air Force, but it's not all "The flak was so thick you could walk on it" stuff. Of course there are a few stories of that type, but also many others with various subjects and viewpoints. It's a good book, and very easy to read a few stories, put it down and pick it up later.
The author, Ralph Welsh, is now a friend of mine whom I met at a local airshow last year while he was sitting under the wing of a C-130 at a table covered with mementos, and a few copies of this book.
