Hello all,
Would like to get assistance with the following. Owning almost
every F-14 Tomcat book available, I'm still searching for a F-14
book from the pilot/RIO point of view. Like the numerous books
available on stories of the WOII and Vietnam wars.
Hope someone has a tip.
Thanks, Ramon

Hi Ramon,
I assume you have the book titled "Grumman F-14 TOMCAT Shipborne Superfighter" by Jon Lake. You can have mine if you don't.
I remember seeing a pretty interesting article in World Airpower Journal about Iran's use of the Phoenix missile. That was years ago, I can't find it. I thought it was quite a good article.

Hi Shawn,
Thanks for the tip, I have this book indeed.
Received however some other tips, that maybe of interest for other F-14 Tomcat fans.
- Topgun Days - Dave "Bio" Baranek (Received this one recently, autographed by the author)
- Roger Ball - Hawk Smith (On order ;D )
- Feet Wet - Paul T. Gillcrist (Hard to get a hold of :embarassed: )
Regards, Ramon

Ramon,
OK, seeing your reply here made me take a last look for the magazine I mentioned (This time with a powerful flashlight) and I found it.
It is in volume 23 of International Airpower Review, not World Airpower Journal (if there even is such a publication). The article is called "Nine Lives of the Cat : Iran's Tomcats at War" It's 18 pages long.
I'm not sure if this magazine is still being published. If you are interested and can't get a back issue, I'll copy it for you.

WAPJ (blue) was the predecessor to IAPR (silver), so it's possible it was a re-used article from WAPJ.
I don't think so, wasn't IAPR vol. 28 the last one?
Ramon, I think you've got the F-14 units in OEF, and in OIF, books from Osprey. There's some stories in there. So I suppose you do not mean combat stories (which, other than the Libya engagement and Iran-Iraq war, is mostly about CAS) but more general fighting/flying in the F-14. I always wondered if the "Jane's How to Fly and Fight in the [US FIGHTER HERE] (At the Controls)" series is any good, the F-14 one: http://www.amazon.com/Janes-Fight-F-14-Tomcat-Controls/dp/000472254X/milavia-20 seems to have good reviews. Do you already have that one?
