To the present day, only one was ever built in 1988, however a second one is in production.

WOW! Thanks for the great pictures, AVIATOR. Very impressive. I love how it can "squat" for ease of loading the nose. I didn't realize there was only one built.

I know "it" says so, but I am wondering where "it" is based on and get this information from? I don't think it is correct, I am also wondering where it is being built then.

There were however plans to restart An-124 production at the Ulyanovsk-based Aviastar-SP plant in a collaborative effort with Antonov, with work to start in 2006-2007. By 2007, Volga-Dnepr Group and Motor Sich had established the company that would handle the project: Cargo Aircraft Managing Company. I haven't heard any news since then?

Isn´t Volga-Dnepr replacing the 124 by 747´s?

This was the one that was designed to carry the Buran space shuttle thing the Sovs built right?

I think when anyone belongs to a forum they have to do their best for it. It is the duty of all members to do that. I didn't get the DFC for nothing after all.

So, you could take industrial tin snips, cut up a 747-400, and stuff it into the Mriya, and it could carry it!
