Lockerbie bomber. Serve his sentence in Libya? What a joke!

AVIATOR:
US wants Lockerbie bomber to serve sentence

Pan Am Flight 103 was blown up over the Scottish town of Lockerbie in December 1988, killing 270 people.

The United States has voiced concern about the possible release of the man jailed for life for the 1988 Lockerbie airliner bombing.

The US is stepping up its pressure on Scottish authorities who are considering freeing 57-year-old Abdelbaset al-Megrahi because he has terminal prostate cancer.

State Department spokesman PJ Crowley says senior Obama administration officials have called Scottish authorities.

"Secretary Clinton has in the past day talked to Justice Minister should Kenny McCaskill and expressed strongly the United States' view that Abdelbaset Ali Mohmet al-Megrahi should serve out the entirety of his sentence in Scotland for his part in the bombing of the Pan Am 103 flight," he said.

He says the US has also made it views clear to the British and Libyan authorities.

Al-Megrahi may be returned to his native Libya next week after abandoning his appeal against conviction.

His lawyers say he has applied to abandon his second appeal against his conviction, a move that clears the way for him to serve the rest of his sentence in Libya.

The application will be heard in an Edinburgh court next week.

Throw the bloody key away!

F-111 C/C:
Just read they decided to release him! What an injustice for the victim's families. They should put him in a drone at 35000' and blow up the plane so he dies like his victims!

SukhoiLover:
Torture him to make him suffer like the victims familly.

AVIATOR:
Well as a consolation dying of terminal prostate cancer could be a suitable ending anyway.
