also I believe it’s the first time French fighter pilots have been able to land onboard the deck of an American aircraft carrier

??? and what about this French Crusader?

And also

US and French navies in 2005

Its in a magazine i have, the captions are

A US Navy C-2 Greyhound lands on the flight deck of the Charles De Gaulle during joint exercises

A Rafale M performs touch and go landing on the USS Dwight D Eisenhower

A French Hawkeye awaits clearence to take off onboard the John C Stennis during a cross deck exchange

Btw, touch and go means they didnt actually stop right?

Yeah, touch and go is performing a landing but not really landing  ;)

I guess they're right. I believe the Crusader was also a touch and go, ít does have the hook extended (probably comes down with the gear), but as you can see, it's about to miss the last cable. Would have been a bad landing.
