That depends on whether he's still alive. Last I heard, some North Korea expert in Japan thinks that North Korea's unveiling of a bronze statue of the dictator means he may well have died.

Question is what aircraft are still operational? I'd like to see a swarm on An-2 Colts take to the skies, WW2 style.

I hear they have a few Mig-29s, along with -21s, and SU-25s. I think they may have a few older MIGs an SUs, also.
 I think the real danger is Seoul's vulnerability to the north's artillery.
There would be a ton of work for Warthogs and Vipers very close to Seoul, and the south would get to try out their Slam Eagles. I know nothing of the north's SAM system, but I'm sure they have lots.
And those midget subs would need to be dealt with.
Does anyone really think it will hit the fan? Or is this all just the usual rhetoric carried a bit further?

I think it's an important question that which Northen Korean planes are capable of delivering korean version of the A bomb. I'm not convinced at all that they would have a large stockpile of missiles capable of carrying them anywhere and they aren't reliable either.

I personally don't think north korea has a version of it's "a-bomb" that is deliverable by an aircraft. I feel whatever they have is most likely a "laboratory" version of a crude fission device.
I wouldn't think that anyone would allow a north korean aircraft to intrude on South Korean airspace at this time, given the moronic rhetoric and absurd posturing that has come from the north lately.
But,I'm so out of the loop, that I don't even know if the planned exercises have even started yet!

No, delivery by aircraft is far too risky, especially with the ones they've got! Every few years there's some missiles tests, and you think they'll strap it to a 30-year old MiG? Flown by a pilot who'd rather drop it in the ocean and fly to Japan?

Don't need a large stockpile, just some good ones. Less reliable the better, means that they'll be less likely to pull the switch.

So do they now have that comms sat. into space, or not?
