Yupp, you still need a graphics card.  The size of the BF2 demo file is 540Mb. When you say you have 256Mb computer, i reffer it to your internal memory. Check how much freespace you have available on your harddrive, if you have more then 1Gb, then your in the safe.  :)

Dubl-click in My Computer. Right click on C: choose Properties. 1000Mb = 1Gb

To be able to run a game like BF2, you always need a graphics card. Dosent matter how much internal memory or freespace you have on the harddrive. If you dont have a card, then its of no use for gaming.  Some games you might run on it, older ones for Win 95 and Win 98. But if you are looking at the newer ones that are meant to be used with Win2000/XP and now Vista. You are way out of your leuge. These games are just too "heavy", and contain so much effects and stuff that you must have a good card to be able to play them.

This is a PC-gamers curse. Every new game has some new technoligy that it requiers the latest cards and so on. But this is our own fault, we want better graphics, we want it to be able to look as realistic as possible. So the game developers gives us that. If we cant play it because of our graphics card are outdated,  we expect the card developers to manufactor some new ones that will be able to cope with it. Its an evil circle.  ;)

Btw, i forgot to post this link in my earlier post.

http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest

Choose the game you are intrested in, then click on test. It will take a little while,  but you will get  information if you are able to run the game of your choice. It will show where your PC fails and where your PC is good.  :)

Handy little tool for gamers.  ;D

My comp has a 120 Gigs. So sad. I'm thinking of getting a tricobyte or however you spell it HD. 1000 GBs.

I have, ah... 1.5 gigs of RAM? Reasonsble... And this pathetic Pentium 4.

1 Terrabyte = 1000 Gigabyte

I have  a 200Gb HD,  a Pentium4  3.4Ghz.... 1Gb Ram and a 256Mb graphics card. With this i have no problems running BF2.

I dont think you should have any problems at all running a game like BF2.  :)

2.3 or 3.4GHz does not make a big diffrence today. Its mostly about the graphicscard you run and the RAM.

A 512Mb Nvidia card will do the trick. You find them in all price ranges. (Pixel Shading 3.0 is standard on most cards today. Maybe you should look for a card that supports the upcoming Direct X 10.)  :)
