I have added the first Video Galleries to the aircraft sections. In cooperation with Patrick's Aviation Website you can now view and download a selection of aviation movies of a particular aircraft from its section in the directory. With some help from Patrick I have completed the required programming and added the video gallery for the F-14 and F-15. The video galleries for other aircraft will be added soon.

Take a look and let me know what you think! ;D

Looks great!!! ;D
I love those F14 fighterflings, some are big but well worth the wait. :D
-
I fully agree, those are excellent video clips and I look forward to seeing more of them in the future. I especially like the F/A-18 references made in the Fighter Fling videos ;) Sad to see those F-14s go :-[

For you F18 lovers i recomend "Hornet Ball 2002" ;D

The USN F-14 is about equivalent to the RAAF F-111. Here in Australia we're getting rid of our F-111 Pigs and will be replacing them with an aircraft that has a far shorter range and speed. The Pig has a much greater range, speed and payload ability compared to our Bugs, it's a pity that we're not keeping them. Perhaps the RAAF could acquire a couple of squadrons worth of Tomcats as interim strike fighters (though I doubt the JSF will ever match the range and speed the older airframes have to offer).
Getting back to the topic, though, I thought the Flighter Fling 2003 and 2004 video clips were by far the best of that series.

At least they recognise that, and put some long range weapons on the Hornets, as well as acquiring some AWACS and new tankers. Today you can refuel in the air where it is safe, before going in. Considering the air dominance by the coalition forces, you don't have to penetrate miles of fighter/sam invested airspace anymore to drop bombs on target far behind enemy lines. So maybe the Hornet is not the ideal solution, but I can't blame them for retiring the F-111 or the F-14 in the american case. The JASSM is replacing the F-111, not the Hornet. And the F-22 is replacing the F-14 in a sense, unless one is still thinking in the traditional tri-service way. So are we really worse off retiring the old fighters? About the JSF, I don't think it lacks range nor speed. It can fly at supercruise (or at least something close to it) because of its better engines/systems, and fly at a proper altitude (because of its stealth). That means you fly more economical and have faster cruise speed, than a F-111 flying ultra-low at full speed to avoid radar detection. So the max range of the F-111 might be better on paper, it won't be that much better in combat.
Of course, the question remains whether it is a good thing to rely on the notion of operating within a coalition offering total control of the airspace. And to what extent a country should rebuild its military for todays way of warfare, moving further away from its original task: homeland defence...
Maybe we should start a seperate discussion, haha.
To get back on topic. Yes, the later Flings are the best. It is recommended to watch the earlier ones first, before watching the 2000-> ones. I love the way they put some movie stuff in there, for example Jerry Macquire, with exception of the Matrix fragments. Those are boring and didn't fit the movies.

Hmm! Seems Interesting, Keep It Up. ;)

Thanks to an update of Patrick's website, you can now view streaming video of most movies, when you click on the download link. On the movie page, you can still download them but you might need another viewer or plugin. See the information in his FAQ.
Unfortunate another update was that visitors can add tags, replacing the old id system. This means that in some of the video galleries you might find videos of other aircraft... this is because people sometimes add wrong tags. There might also be some virtual (flight simulator) movies among them, because the uploader of the movie put it in the real aviation category. Unfortunately this is all out of my control. But if the list is really getting messy, let me know and I will use my own tags.

Some more video galleries added:
F-CK-1 IDF "Ching-Kuo" (http://www.milavia.net/aircraft/ching-kuo/ching-kuo_vids.htm)

These are fantastic. Great work, Webby. ;D ;) :D
-
Thanks, I'm just linking them though. Added today:
SEPECAT Jaguar videos (http://www.milavia.net/aircraft/jaguar/jaguar_vids.htm)
-
Web I love your videos they are some of the most sweetest vids ever. You don't find to many aircraft vids without music anymore so you can hear the jets screaming.
-
Yeah, the rock is really starting to get to me. Maybe we should make one together, ja, Cobra? And replace the jet engine screams with Beethoven, Mozart and Michael Buble. ;D
-
I have a few of the Viggen ripping the air apart, but i cant post them on the web since they are not my own captures. :(
-
Aw... Webby, did you film those?
-
No, like I said, I only link to them on Patrick's Aviation.
-
Yeah, i got that impression. I was hoping you filmed one or two FOR Patrick.
-
Did you?
-
Hm if i could see if there's anything worth taking in next year's Aerospace exhibition.
-
Pretty cool videos!!!
