The new homepage is online now. After a short trial with few errors reported, I decided to replace the old index page today. With the new version some new features and sections have been introduced, please check it out.

The homepage will probably receive a few more small changes in the coming months. I am now in the process of applying the same layout to the other sections of the site. While doing this, each section will also be improved, thus it will take weeks if not months to finish. Finally the top 'Adobe Flash' menu will be redone.
Feel free to comment on the new design, and please report any errors.

Really like the new layout Niels. Good job.
-
Thanks, lazy!
-
Niels, I really like the new layout. Nicely done!
-
Great work on the new layout! It feels very fresh but at the same time it still has the special Milavia-feeling. :)
-
Great layout. But i think what attracted me the most when i first saw this site was the simplicity of the layout. The new layout looks slightly more cluttered than the previous one, although it does maintain the "Milavia feel." You may find that the number of regular visitors drops slightly, but then again, i couldn't be very sure.
No offense Webby i like this layout. ;)

Well, one could always bookmark http://www.milavia.net/updates/ or http://www.milavia.net/updates/additions.html to get a simply overview of just the latest content.

True. What about brand new visitors, Webby? ::)
-
Direct traffic = steady, Search engine = up, New visitors = up, Returning visitors = up
So overall, I wouldn't say I lost any traffic because of the change.
-
Impressive. The new theme does tie in with Vista a little doesn't it? :P
-
Dunno, I'm on XP.
-
I've got both. ;D It fits very well with vista. Probably the reason why it's attracting so many visitors. ;D Good work, Webby.

To all of you, I'm glad you like it.
Blue/white has always been the safest bet. So until I really have some more spare time, I won't be experimenting with other schemes.
How about usability?
-
Quite practical. Is there a function for "watch this thread" so that you get updates on new posts even if you don't post?
-
Yes... I thought you were talking about the website, not just the forum though.
