Thank you guys!

So far, three people said it could use improvement, but didn't leave a comment. What need to be improved?

Well, if I would describe my ideal index page it would look more like a Windows Explorer tree branching setup with the list of boards and child-boards on the right in a frame, topics in a frame next to it, and the topic selected appearing in a main frame to the right. Just my idea of an easy-to-navigate forum.  :)

Thank you for the suggestion, although I was referring to the website's homepage, not the forum. But yes, navigation on the left would be handy, I am doing that to the rest of the website, so I have been thinking about doing it with the boards on the forum too. The only problem is that it uses up horizontal space, so less 'screen real estate' for the actual posts; not all people are on widescreen yet. Also, it's no secret that I am using a standard forum software package, which is built in a certain way, so to do this I need to make significant changes or create a really clever 'theme'. That would take quite some time. I'll look into it, but right now, I have other things to complete first.

Frames are not desirable from a SEO point of view. But it could be a good 'interim' solution for you and anyone else that prefers it, until I attack the theme. Let's see if I can create something.

Well i actually put the second-best option. Still looks like a pretty perfect homepage though.  ;D

What i really think needs something done about is that big advertistment banner in the middle of the page. The last time i loaded the page it said "Meet Japanese Singles Now" Hmmm...  ???

Apart from that, the bookmark thing gets really annoying after the first time...   :-\

1) Google Ads... I can't control them, yeah block some keywords, but they always find a way around it. Used to be Russian Girls here. Now it is showing an ad for a well known aviation magazine subscription, here at least. So I am not removing it, sorry, but I have to pay the bills here... unless you want to pay a subscription fee to have the banners removed like some other aviation sites do, but as far as I can tell from your posts here over the years, I guess you are not interested in that...?

2) I had already removed it from the footer, so it's displayed only once on a page, and only on some pages. It's another third party thing, I can't check whether you've bookmarked the site or not, so I can't make it dissappear once you have bookmarked it. Besides, you get used to ignoring things like this, especially this one as it is on many sites. But I might create my own thing later to replace it.

Yeah, it shouldn't be much of a problem. Also, I think it's pretty clear on this site what is advertisement, and what is internal links or thumnails to click.
