Speed Counts the good Fighter.
-
Assuming equal pilot skill levels, it pays to have a more agile, mobile, versatile, flexible and capable aircraft. :)
-
A good pilot and performance all the way
-
I put performance, because it covers a wide range of topics. I would also say that the pilot flying the jet would also be part of the equation determining if the jet is succeseful or not.
-
They are all important to make a fighter successfull. There can be an aircraft with superior quality in terms of performance, but if it is unserviceable or too costly it won't be the greatest. And if you can't get the logistics to work, you'll end up with all your high performance aircraft on the ground.
Nowadays flexibility is a very important factor in making a fighter a success in both commercial and military areas. If that's in the performance option, then I would vote for that. Another important success factor would be the power to weight ratio, also in performance. I see speed and range as performance as well.
But it all depends how all things are put together.
I actually think speed is less important, as long as it isn't too slow, when talking about a multi-role fighter and not an aircraft specialised for interception. And recent fighters show this, they have lower maximum speeds than aircraft from the third generation. It is compromised for other good stuff.

Development of a fighter always start with its wished preformance. :)

Ya That's 100% True.

I appreciate the time you took to send your idea and suggestion about GOOD FIGHTERS.

Yes Thats true because Pilots skills is directly proportional to the Aircraft. Without good pilot a best
Aircraft have no meaning. ;)

But speed also be counted..... ;D

I guess speed is counted in so is turnratio and so on, when ingeneers develop fighters. Think it goes under the name of preformance!! ;D
-
un buen caza segun mi opinion debe tener suma agilidad ser pequeño y rapido ....mas nada
-
I think all of you forgot about the most important factor af all..........WEAPONS. :P
-
Ah yes, but without SYSTEMS/SENSORS your weapons are useless as well ;) The Radar proved a to be make-or-break item for fighters many times.
-
very very very true...

Dear i know Pilots are the basic tool of Good Fighter but here we discuss
Speed, Logistics, Servicing, Performance, Range and runways, Cost and Availability
-
Performance- an F/A-18 in the USMC or Candian Airforce is "slow" compared to most of the world fighters (at mach 1.7) ,but the avionics ,radar absorbent exteriors, and agility factors make it quite skilled and deadly- its one of the few world fighter aircraft (like the Tornado) that can dog fight, then bomb a target,, then dog fight its way home

great Pilots are made not born,A man may posses good eyesight, sensitive hands and perfect coordination but the end product is only fastioned by steady coaching, much practice n' experience.
