Iran to start developing their own fighters.
« on: September 08, 2006, 04:19:32 PM »
Iran announced on thursday that they have developed a new fighter called "Azarakhsh" (Lightning). Its similar to the american F5 Tiger. They have also mentioned that they have another fighter under development "Saegheh" (Thunder). It is supposed to be similar to the american F18 Hornet, but have better capacity.

"News taken from Vetlanda-Posten"  (Roughly translated by me).

Personally i would love to see some pics or movieclips of these fighets in the air, always nice with new upcoming fighters. But if they will be any good thats another question.

Not really new, only the release is 'news'. On the pictures you see this 'new' fighter, it's just a copied/modified F-5 with twin tail. This is the "Azarakhsh". Looking forward to the "Saegheh". The last picture is by the way, the Iranian jet trainer "Tazarv" also in development, it looks a bit more original.

5) Also there is a Irani sam Sayyad-1. I do not know from who they copied it  ;D

6) Also I belive they are building copies of An-140.

Irany major general Yahya Rahim Safav announced that Iran has just started to produce a new type of UAVs. He added that these UAVs are using new stealth technology.

Ok any comments?

Would there be any reasons to doubt what he is saying and could they adopt this technology to their newer fighters any time soon?

The analytics suspect that Israel or US or both may carry out air-strikes against Iran upcoming spring or summer. So my guess is that their stealth technology will be late in case of a defence of their nuclear structures in case of a war/a strike.

Secondly would anyone of you know how different is the stealth used on planes different from stealth used on ICBMs? If they build their 4th generation ICBMs with stealth techology and get nuclear weapons then Israel would stand with a naked butt waiting for a strike in the Middle-East.

Who cares what Bush has to say?  ;D He also said not to sell weapons to Iran, which Russia so nicely ignores  :)

Anyway I hear China is one of Irani major partners. I guess India may also buy oil from there and various other places. Oil from Venezuela has ended up as far as Lithuania(few hundred kms south from me), so who knows who else runs on irani oil, maybe even you....
