Rafale underpowered? noway my friends...see this : 50% internall fuel =5190 lbs+empty weight 20943 lbs +2000 lbs a-a missilies + guns = 28133 lbs-> T/W=16854*2/28133=1.19 wet and 0.80 dry. I don't think it is any sort of underpowered...

Oh yes, the mighty Raptor, empty weight around 42974 lbs, say 50% internal fuel , about 9000 lbs + 3.000 lbs for weapons and with 70.000 lbs total reheated thrust-> T/W=1.27, which of course is damn good and has the advantage of internal weapon carriage for reduced drag.....
