Hello for everyone! I'm new on this forum.

I'd like to take part on this poll......and these are not in any particular order.

1. F-22 Raptor - Simply the best air dominance fighter today.
2. Flanker series - There's no like it!
3. Dassault Mirage 2000 - A great multirole fighter which has suffered much of underestimation and of its big price...
4. JAS Gripen - A Great fighter for smaller nations with 5th gen capabilities.
5. F-15K - The latest  and the deadliest Eagle.
6. MiG-35 - Propably the best multirole 4th gen light weight fighter today with 5th gen capabilities...
7. F/A-18E/F/G Rhino - Carrier master....Especially after the Block II+ update...Amazing capabilites.
8. MiG-31 Foxhound - Still one of the best interceptors you can find, and still, so much mystery surrounds the plane....
9. Saab Viggen - Extremely good attack/reconnaissance/EW/fighter plane with features that sheaped the way for many modern fighters...
10. Eurofighter Typhoon - Yet the best European fighter...I say no more...

Haha, milavians, nice term  ;D. I guess we all wanted to be milaviators instead though.

Welcome to the forum, Osuorsa! (any meaning to that name?)

Tough one, but here we go:

1. Tornado IDS/ECR, I just love the way it looks, the noise it makes, the loaded swing wings, the colours of the afterburner, and it's one of the best low-level strikers ever. I don't care what others say. The ADV is not really looking as good as the strikers.
2. B-1B, I love supersonic bombers with swing wings, but this one just looks better than the Russians, although they are fascinating as well.
3. Tu-22 Blinder, fascinating aircraft, first supersonic bomber, ground breaking and beautiful design.
4. Saab Viggen, love this delta winged beast with the big canards, beautifully shaped and the original thrust reverser. Not to mention the splinter camo. Have you ever seen it do a short landing, turn around and short take off? It's amazing. I love its gear arrangement.
5. Su-27 Flankers series, for capabilities and all its derivatives, TVC versions and the awesome Su-32/34 bomber variant.
6. F-15E Strike Eagle and derivatives. I don't care much for the standard 15, but this one is awesome in capabilities.
7. Typhoon, tremendous power and agility, fierceful looking intake. I wish the tail was a bit less 'rounded off'.
8. A-4 Skyhawk, I just love this little bird, I don't know why, love the version with the 'hump'.
9. Mi-24 Hind, fierceful looks and ability to carry troops as well as destroy tanks. The way is moves is awesome, and the sound is so beautiful. For all of you who haven't seen one flying yet, I hope you will see it (at an airshow) some day!
10. I'm already at 10, and I have so many others to name! I suppose the tenth place will go to the F-4 Phantom, all versions, except the recce types.

Ones I left out:
- F-22, may be the best thing on earth, I don't care for it. It's like a Porsche Turbo GT or whatever, I prefer a Ferrari any day even if it's not better.
- F-14, used to be one of my favourites, but man, I couldn't stand all this crying over it being replaced by the Super Hornet. I'm over it and bored with it.
- Tu-22M, still love it, but well, had to give its spot to the Tu-22.
- MiG-31, maybe should have been in it, but I don't know, it looks just a bit too simple in terms of design?
- Gripen, sure good aircraft, but doesnt quite do it for me. The delta should have been extended all the way back. And bigger engine+bigger intakes.
- F-16, really should be in anyone's top 10, but with so many around, who cares :P
- Rafale/Mirage 2000, has been growing on me, mainly due to the many beautiful/exciting photos and videos I've seen of them. But in real life, they're a bit boring.

So now you got mine, go ahead.

My Top 10...
 1: The almighty Su-37 Terminator
2: The great and magnificent CF-105
 3: The unbeatable F-15 Eagle
 4: The all-new stealthy F-35 Lightning II
 5: The ... Predator
 6: The old CF-100 Canuck
7: The stealthy and deadly F-22 Raptor
 8: The strange F-117 Nighthawk
9: The really fast XB-70 Valkyrie
10: And... the English Electric Lightning

I think that's all.

Im still confused as why people call the Raptor deadly.

Has it actually shot down enemy planes, or is it still 'theoretically' deadly, not practically (aka LITERALLY DEADLY)?

Thanks for everyone of the kind weolcome... :)

2Webmaster - Actually yes, osuorsa comes from my name, Olli Suorsa. ;)

I also had some problems on choosing some planes...I had to left planes like Panavia Tornado IDS and F-14 off the list.....

The thing why Raptor is said to be so ''deadly'' -is becouse of its ability to outfly almost anything today! Its stealth performance togeather with supercruising and state-of-the-art avionics IT REALLY IS almost unstoppable TODAY (albeit not in future)...You have to understand (that you without a doubt do) that the Raptor is in its own class....And it is the only 5th gen fighter around....
