Title: Video shows British Forces blowing up Hercules in Iraq
Post by: tigershark on August 30, 2008, 05:13:44 AM
I can't believe there's nothing on this $25/30+ million dollar transport that's worth saving?  Looks like perfectly flat surround area and there's enough personnel watching it being blown up to protect it until it could be taking away I guess in parts?  Even if the frame is crack there are 4 engines, wings, tires, cockpit equipment, etc, something on it had to working it was flying.   Doesn't seem like a waste, does England or the USAF have that many C-130s to say it's too much trouble lets just blow it up?  It Just seems wrong to me I have to assume who ever was in charge knew what they were doing and the areas wasn't safe enough to carry out such repair/removal operations.
