Whats the deal with this new AWACS plane that Australia is getting?

Australia has purchased six aircraft for its Wedgetail fleet. ... and air traffic management upgrades on the first of 32 U.S. Air Force AWACS aircraft. thatt all i found in the internet

well what i found it seems to be the Boeing 737 AEW&C
Cruise speed: 530 mph (853 km/h)
Range: 3,800 n mi (7,040 km)
but im not sure sry if im wrong

And its radar is Active Electronically Scanned Array radar.

And yeah Foxhound, I found that it is the 737 AWACS also.

is it better then the AWACS with the circle thing on its back? or worse? or equal?

Because the new radar is scanned/phases array it doesnt have to rotate anymore. The radarradiation is electronically directed to where it is supposed to go. It makes for a much lighter construction and therefore a smaller aircraft. Scanningrange is over 200 nm and about the same as the E-3. Ugly aircraft by the way...
