I think the Russian Knights are one of the few demonstration teams I have yet to see perform live.

Small update...

The dead pilot, parachute reportedly caught fire in the air.

According to preliminary investigations, the accident was most likely caused by pilot error during an aerobatics maneuver, although the possibility of a technical failure has not been ruled out.

On-board recording devices have been found at the scene of the accident, and the investigators continue to recover the main parts of the aircraft for further analysis.

Looks like a JFS (jet fuel starter) to me or an APU.

Yeah, combination of both I suppose, I don't know much about it, but I think it's the VKA unit which goes on the AL-31F...  is that the gas-turbine starter in the middle (GTDE-117)? The other two are drive shafts/rotational gears? At the back there should be two aggregates or pumps... as in this picture the attached picture?

Not 100% sure though... help me F-111C/C, what's what?
