Britain may order C-17 aircraft due to A400M delays LONDON, March 30 (Reuters) - Britain is considering a new order for Boeing's (B.N) C-17 military transport aircraft due to the long-running delays to the Airbus (EAD.PA) A400M programme, a spokesman for the Ministry of Defence said.
"We are naturally concerned by delays to the A400M programme and ... the MoD is considering various contingency plans including procuring additional assets for example C-17," the spokesman told Reuters on Monday.
Britain is one of seven countries to have ordered a total of 180 of the A400M planes, which have been delayed by 3-4 years. The MoD spokesman said a final decision on whether to go ahead with the project at all would be made in June.
