I agree SAS73 that is a lot of money to spend and the air force could suck up your military budget for the next three years and still may be enough.

I think that the SAAB AWAC plataform is a good invest. but on the other hand I think other good invest will be SAM Systems. I think Colombia has a few Israeli IAI made SAM Systems. A russian tecnhology will be great. But how American made? could be expensive thatn the russian?
After Colombian Air Force recive the other 12 KFIR C7 for a total of 24 fleet, it will be time to think in a 4th generation fighter. A mirage2000 will be great, a Gripen much better. I dont know if the next year the US under Obama rule (future US President) the US will give to Colombia much aid in the military and we can see american made fighters in the Colombian Skies.
