More F-16s Head for Middle East

The first four of 16 F-16A/Bs acquired by Jordan from Belgium will leave Kleine Brogel airbase for Moualak Salti airbase near Amman on September 10. The remainder will be delivered this year. The 12 single-seaters and four two-seaters were purchased in 2007 and have all gone through the F-16 Mid Life Update program. Jordan already has 32 F-16A/Bs acquired from the US (see f-16.net), 17 of which are going through the MLU upgrade at Turkish Aerospace Industries.
The Wall Street Journal, meanwhile, is reporting that Iraq has requested the sale of 36 F-16s, citing the usual "officials familiar with..." In July, Iraq requested the sale of six C-130Js, valued at $1.5 billion. Congress has also been notified of sales of 24 light combat helicopters with $2.4 billion, as well as tanks and light armored vehicles. Iraq would join Egypt, Israel and Jordan in the Middle East F-16 operators' club, while Morocco has 24 aircraft on order.

Just to let you know the Oman Air Force has F16s as well , i know cause I have seen them heheheheh

Yeah im still here out in the sand pit , not long now just over a week till return to UK
Back a few days then off to Greece then back for 3 weeks then off to the Carribean again with work related things , so wont be about much but Nimrod on , you will hear many things in next few weeks with us boys hehehe


In matter of fact was funny I mentioned that earlier as today we had an F16 departure with the usual typical Omani showboating , these guys really do some crazy horse stuff
