Northrop Grumman Highlights Global Security Capabilities at the International Paris Air Show 2009
LONDON, June 9, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ ----Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC: 48.16, 0.23, 0.48%) will display a wide variety of its industry leading global security capabilities and programs at the International Paris Air Show, including unmanned aerial vehicles, advanced fire control radar, targeting and electronic warfare systems and its airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) capabilities.

This site will contain regularly updated information, including briefing schedules, news releases and program news. During the first half of the week, each day's key activities will also be summarized by Northrop Grumman personnel in a Web journal called "Par Avion."..

The International Paris Air Show takes place 15-21 June 2009 at Le Bourget, France. Around 2,000 exhibiting companies from 35 countries are expected to attend the show together with 270,000 visitors. This year the Paris Air Show celebrates its centenary.

Northrop Grumman's open-air static display area will feature a full-scale model of the Global Hawk high altitude long endurance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) together with a demonstration of the company's intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance capabilities using a real time airborne video link. A U.S. Navy Fire Scout vertical take-off and landing UAV located at Webster Field, Maryland in the United States, will fly a series of demonstration missions and transmit EO/IR imagery in real time direct to the air show for visitors to see through a real time video link.

Featured in Northrop Grumman's chalet will be the KC-45A aerial refuelling tanker based on the highly-successful Airbus A330 commercial airframe, the Broad Area Maritime Surveillance Unmanned Aircraft System (BAMS UAS) based on a maritime derivative of the combat-proven RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned aircraft with sensors and E-2D Hawkeye airborne early warning and control system.

Also highlighted will be Northrop Grumman's LPD San Antonio-class amphibious warfare and transport ship and its International Patrol Frigate, a versatile and affordable warship based on the multi-mission National Security Cutter currently operated by the U.S. Coast Guard.

The National Polar Orbiting Environmental Satellite System (NPOESS) for monitoring essential climate variables from space will also be featured. Northrop Grumman is the prime contractor for NPOESS, including the design, development and system integration..

The company's family of AESA (active electronically scanned array) fire control radars will be featured at the show, including the new Scalable Agile Beam Radar (SABR), designed as a retrofit for existing F-16 aircraft and scalable to fit other aircraft platforms and mission areas. .

Northrop Grumman's German and Italian subsidiaries will also be represented at the air show.

Northrop Grumman LITEF will display its navigation systems, inertial guidance systems and attitude heading reference systems for fixed and rotary wing aircraft including the LCR-100 AHRS and the LN-3 navigation unit for the F-104G Star Fighter aircraft. Northrop Grumman Italia will display a range of its state-of-the-art fiber-optic navigation systems, including the LISA-200, the Navex family of attitude heading reference systems and LN 251 / LN 270 high accuracy inertial navigation systems. These are in service on aircraft platforms in the U.S., Europe and Asia and are fitted to the Eurofighter Typhoon, the Tornado and BAE Systems Hawk.
