Norwegian pilot fired on controltower by mistake...
« on: January 17, 2009, 02:34:49 AM »
During an Norwegian military exercise two F16 Falcons were on a mission to engage a target with live ammo. The target was an empy oiltanker surrounded by a few containers. The pilot in question opened fire with his 20mm gun but missed his target with 1,5km, and insteed hit a controltower where 4 persons were located.

By a miracle no persons was injured. The Norwegian Air Force consider this be the most serious accident they had the past 20 years. The pilot was not a trainee and he is not being taken out of flight duty. A task force is going to investigate the incident.
