Title: Poland Delivers 4 W-3A

   PZL Swidnik of Poland has delivered the 1st 4  of 8 units of brand new W-3A Sokols to the PAF aboard an Antonov AN-124 aircraft and landed at Clark Field on Feb. 15th , the deal for the procurement of 8 CUH was sealed in 2010 at a contract price of $64 Million and the remaining 4 units are scheduled to arrive in the 2nd half of 2012 ...

So a good step up accross the board when compared to the Huey, but that's about it really. Is this investing in defense? Looks to me the Huey availability got to very low levels and this was available at a good price addressing some of the Huey's shortcomings. But that's it, alright, may be all that can be afforded. My biggest concern with this is perhaps when it comes to support. Swidnik going to support this small fleet on the other side of the world?

Interesting though how the W-3 seem to be first choice when a tactical modern transport heli is needed (relatively) fast (other case: new Iraq).
