ZHUKOVSKY, August 21 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Air Force and the Tactical Missile Weapons corporation signed on Friday a 6 billion ruble ($190 mln) contract for modern air-launched missiles, the force's commander said.
"In the next two years, the Russian Air Force will take delivery of an advanced missile complex, comprised of 14 different types of weapons," Col. Gen. Alexander Zelin said.
The contract was signed at the ongoing MAKS-2009 air show just outside Moscow.
Media reports said the new weapons would be installed on Sukhoi fighters.

Looks like Russia is trying to get back on it's feet militarily. Shawn A is at the MAKS show. I bet he'll have a lot to say when he gets back. Still with all that new aircraft and hardware, they're a long way from what you'd call a superpower.

Well, they still have their nukes, so underestimating them is a mistake.

190 mln for 14 types, I bet they are a bit cheaper than their Western counterparts, but even just for acceptance integration and testing... not sure it is enough, some aren't even fully developed (depending which ones are in the package)? They're still a long way from actual deliveries.
