Singapore invites bids for defence deal-Basis Point SINGAPORE, May 11 (Reuters) - Singapore's government has invited bids on the Advance Jet Trainer project, which could cost S$500 million ($343 million) over 20-25 years, Basis Point reported.
Singapore's ST Engineering (STEG.SI: Quote, Profile, Research) said it is bidding for the project, but declined to give details of the bid.
Basis Point said another potential bidder was a consortium that includes U.S. Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT.N: Quote, Profile, Research).
"PricewaterhouseCoopers is the project adviser for Defence Science & Technology Agency, a unit of Singapore's Ministry of Defence," Basis Point said.
"The winning bidder will be responsible for the delivery, operation and maintenance of training aircraft, flight simulators and training facilities throughout the life of the contract, which is expected to be for 20-25 years."
