Swedish Air Force plane suspected of violating Finnish airspace
15.4.2008 at 8:50

A Swedish military aircraft is suspected of having violated Finland's airspace south of the Ã…land Islands on Monday at around midday, the West Finland Coast Guard reported.

According to the coast guard, the Gulfstream reconnaissance plane is suspected of having flown six or seven kilometres into Finnish airspace and remained in it for three minutes.

Lieutenant Commander Ismo Siikaluoma, head of the West Finland Coast Guard, told the Finnish News Agency (STT) that preliminary investigations of the incident would take around one week.

A Swedish plane last violated Finnish airspace in October. However, in recent times more frequent violations of Finnish airspace have been made by Russian aircraft.

Odd. Sweden and Finland are like best buddies yet such a thing gets such a coverage, I've seen it from several sources.
