100 F-35s purchased

The National assembly foreign affairs committee has confirmed the production of F-35 planes which are undetectable by radar. Turkey will buy 100 F-35 planes within the next ten years.

Confirmation to the purchase of 100 F-35

The National assembly foreign affairs committee confirmed the production of F-35 planes. One hundred planes will be purchased within the next ten years.

The National assembly foreign affairs committee, with the partnership of nine countries, has confirmed the production contract for F-35 planes and which can not be detected by radar. Within the scope of the $10.7 billion project, Turkey will purchase 100 F-35 planes. The foreign affairs committee approved the proposal yesterday, allowing for Turkey's participation in the production, assistant and constant improvement stage of war planes. The minister of defense, Vecdi Gönül, stated that the project is worth $250 billion and added: "some of the F-4 and F-16 planes comprising the main hitting team of the Air Force Command will expire in the year 2010. The activities to choose new generation war planes for the air forces began in the 90s."

last F-4s in the world (along with greece's) have their days counted  :-\

Japan's F-4 are still operational.

Nice order for Lockheed and I wonder a few years down the road if Turkey would spend the money and go ASEA for there Vipers?
