The government is also still struggling to determine what to do with its Eurofighter Typhoon Tranche 3 requirement. Ongoing discussions between the UK and Saudi Arabia over the latter's interest in an additional 40-60 Typhoon Tranche 3 aircraft potentially provides London with a way to meet its off-take commitment to its Eurofighter partners, Germany, Italy and Spain, while being able to substantially reduce - or even cut completely - its own purchase.
