I think you found one of Bartini's (or Bertini) designs. Italian engineer who lived in Russia.

It's the Beriev VVA-14. Was the Italian employed by Beriev OKB?

Anyway, it's not really an ekranoplan.

I had a nice reply typed out, but opened a picture in this window and lost it...don't want to type it all again. Do a little google search and you'll find a lot of WIG/Ekranoplan related sites. For now, you'll have to be satisfied with this picture as my contribution to the discussion.

i had an MCQ test one that had the reply as "a great sea monster emerged from the sea."

Lol. Now that i think of it, that big plane up there looks like an inflatable survival raft...

Its Russia, they did crazy things. A jet powered survival raft wouldnt surprse me
