Ok people they were not bombing indusry, but civilians. It was called morale bombing and it was used to make the people so scared the gave up. Plus most of Japans industry was asorted in big cities and the US were unable to hit the and destroy them, so the just destroed the whole community.
Against Germany the stoped going for the industry and more for civilians there idea was,'kill the people who work for the factorys, and the factorys stop!'



PS The firebombs were used as cluster bombs, every canister carried 50+ 'incinderary sticks'
